As many of you will be aware, the preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) will be required from 2005, for all publicly listed companies within the EU, who prepare consolidated financial statements. Studies have shown that while most listed companies will be aware of the requirement to adopt IFRS in 2005, the detailed requirements and implications of all this may not yet be clear.
